A family address in Val-Thorens, a Club Med 4 Premium in La Rosière or a five-star in Val d’Isère … From the Alps to the Pyrenees, five establishments that will be the stars of winter.
Val-d’Isère, the eighth 5-star
The K2 Chogori, named after a Himalayan summit, which opens its doors in Val-d’Isère, is first and foremost a family affair. Imagined by Suzanne and Philippe Capezzone, led by their daughter Emily and decorated by their son Thomas, interior designer, this 5-star hotel and spa takes place in the heart of the village, opposite the church steeple. In the superb contemporary architecture of the old hotel Maurice, completely revisited, two cocoon chalets shelter 21 rooms and suites where all the codes of luxury are declined with discretion. Ultrapersonalized, the K2 experience is far from any ostentation, favoring mountain chic and the Latin flavors of the house restaurant L’Altiplano, of Peruvian inspiration.

Val-Thorens, place for family
A page turns for one of the oldest addresses in Val-Thorens. On December 13, instead of the old MMV Les Neiges, the highest resort in Europe will host the flamboyant Hotel Marielle, like Marielle Goitschel. In the 1970s, the two-time French Olympic ski champion, one of the resort’s pioneers, opened a children’s snow academy in Val-Thorens. This 4-star, 83-room hotel enjoys one of the best locations in the resort, on the snow front, just in front of the ESF meeting point. The interior designer Leslie Gauthier led the renovation of the premises with a friendly approach adapted to families, enough to allow you to leave as a tribe while optimizing your budget.
Hotel Marielle (04.58.24.00.80; Hotelmarielle.com). Double room from € 180. Classic Room for 2 adults and 2 children from € 375.
Loudenvielle, last Pyrenean chic
Mercure Loudenvielle Peyragudes: its name sums up the location of this long-awaited 4-star hotel, the second in the massif. On December 18, it will therefore open in Loudenvielle (Hautes-Pyrénées), just below the Peyragudes station. The hotel, all in stone, wood and slate, thrones moreover at the start of the Skyvall gondola which goes up to the slopes. With its 63 duplex rooms and its children’s club during school holidays, it plays the family card to the full. And also offers two restaurants, a bar, a Nuxe spa, a ski-room and a heated outdoor swimming pool.
The Boutique des Pyrénées (05.62.56.70.00; Neige.hautes-pyrenees.fr). For a family of 4, from € 4,099 per week with half-board, ski passes and ski equipment included, as well as lessons for children.
La Rosière, Club Med, Premium resort
The Club Med offers itself for this winter a new alpine address. And not just anywhere … In La Rosière, the French resort of Haute Tarentaise, whose Franco-Italian ski area, 152 km of slopes, covers 3,000 hectares among the sunniest in the Alps. 8 km from Italy, the Premium resort, with 395 Superior and Deluxe rooms, ski in ski out, is located on what was once the road that Hannibal took when crossing the Petit-Saint-Bernard pass. A beautiful story told by the entrance fresco, like a decoration rooted in Savoyard and Aosta Valley culture. Committed to an eco-certification process, Club Med La Rosière participated in the decontamination of the old altiport, on which it is partly built, restoring more than 4,000 m2 of nature to the environment.
Club Med La Rosière (0.810.810.810; Clubmed.fr/la-rosiere). From € 1,986 per person, in a Superior room and on an all-inclusive basis, accommodation, table, ski pass and ski lessons.

Tignes, multifaceted luxury
In the heart of Tignes le Lac, it took two years of work to build on the side of the rock Le Diamond Rock, an exceptional refuge of 7,000 m² and its glass roof cut in the shape of a diamond. In terms of decor, this new 5-star hotel has been imagined as a chic cocoon and its 62 rooms and suites combine contemporary lines with raw and noble materials such as wood, stone and marble. As for services, in addition to two restaurants – including one gourmet – and a panoramic bar, there is the ski shop with direct access to the slopes, the spa with 5 cabins and the swimming pool offering a unique view of the slopes. Finally, everything is planned to take care of the children: a Kid’s Club (with bowling, cinema, billiards and table football) welcomes them every day from 3 to 9 p.m. What even better to enjoy the holidays.
